Job Summary
Inova Schar Cancer Institute is looking for a dedicated Nurse Manager to join the team. This will be a Monday - Friday day shift exempt role. Our clinics are open 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

The Nurse Manager oversees assigned unit to ensure it is performing effectively which may include but not limited to hiring and training team members creating and implementing business strategies managing performance of team members and delegating tasks. Manages a nursing unit with 24-hour responsibility through demonstrated leadership and supporting behavioral competencies. Utilizes the Joint Commission standards and nursing practice tools/research to support a care delivery system that produces quality care with optimal outcomes. Serves as a primary liaison and information resource for unit of responsibility while overseeing the provision of therapeutic care in a holistic and evidence-based environment which produces excellent patient care with optimal patient outcomes. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource and a mentor to team members and showing respect for and an appreciation for the contributions of all team members. Consistently supports Inova Health Systems mission and strategic plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification - Basic Life Support
- Licensure - Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience - 2 years of nursing experience related to the units scope.
- Education - Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oncology certification or achieve within 2 years preferred
- Previous oncology experience highly preferred
- 2 years previous Supervisory experience
- Previous outpatient experience
