Salary Information:

Unless required by legislation or union contract starting salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary most cases successful employees will move up a step in the salary range within six months with subsequent step increases occurring every year as supported by successful performance evaluation results. We also offer cost of living adjustments longevity supplements after five years of eligible public service and wellness incentives.

About the Role

Acts for the Constituent Services Manager independently handling complex/confidential correspondence transmitting decisions and directives representing the administrator at meetings formulating and implementing Golden Buckeye program policy and assuming authority in the administrators absence.

Key duties of this role are:

• Public relations: Researches and responds to inquiries and complaints furnishes information and explains the Golden Buckeye program and other AGE Programs to the public.
• Golden Buckeye responsibilities: Responds to telephone inquiries monitors the mailbox and prepares print orders and mailings.
• Data Management: Uses a personal computer to manage data verify information and provide status updates.
• Reception: Serves as the agencys receptionist greeting and directing visitors.
• Backup Support: Assists the Constituent Affairs Assistant with various tasks including managing the agencys main telephone line and customer service mailboxes assisting with mail and supply operations processing inquiries creating tickets and covering shifts for the phone service during business hours and as assigned during nights/weekends.

This position is part-time approximately 35 hours per week and requires availability Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

About the Division

TheLegislative and Public Affairs Division (LPAD)coordinates government and external relations including media outreach. The division is responsible for developing relationships with the legislature and stakeholders as well as promoting policy to ensure that the interests of the department and aging Ohioans are represented across the state and at the federal level. The division plans special events and recognitions and creates and distributes educational and informative publications across media. Staff handles constituent inquiries maintains the departments website and social media presences and operates the Golden Buckeye program and ODAs main phone line.
