Senior Project Manager: Full-Time PCORI-funded Term-limited position
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Senior Project Manager to administer day-to-day operations of a large multi-site Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI)-funded study. The study is the Supporting Practices in Respecting Elders (SPIRE) project ( and is funded as a multi-year comparative effectiveness trial in primary care practices across four health systems. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring successful execution of a complex stakeholder-engaged research initiative designed to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes for older adults with complex care needs. The ideal candidate has experience managing large federally or foundation-funded research studies or improvement initiatives excels in cross-institutional collaboration and brings a deep commitment to person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Implementation
Leads overall project management including timeline tracking budget oversight milestone monitoring and deliverable completion.
Coordinates site engagement activities across multiple different health systems and clinical practices.
Assists the leadership team in ensuring compliance with PCORI and institutional requirements including IRB compliance reporting and data safety protocols.
Team and Stakeholder Coordination
Facilitates communication across multidisciplinary teams including SPIRE study core leadership site-based principal investigators champions clinicians community partners and stakeholders.
Supports the implementation of learning collaborative activities SPIRE study meetings and stakeholder engagement meetings.
Works closely with project Clinical Research Coordinators on study deliverables to clinical sites and funders.
Study Infrastructure & Data Coordination
With oversight by the Project Director develops and maintains project management systems for task tracking documentation and communication.
Collaborates with the Study PIs and Project Director to develop streamlined methods for study activities including recruitment and enrollment tracking data collection data reporting and quality assurance processes.
Collaborates with SPIRE study leadership to support fidelity monitoring site-level adaptation and tracking of implementation facilitators barriers and lessons learned.
Reporting & Communication
Assists with drafting and coordinating progress reports grant deliverables and presentations to funders and stakeholders.
Assists with dissemination of findings including manuscript support public-facing materials and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Public Health Health Policy Health Services Research or a related field
Minimum 57 years of relevant experience managing large-scale research or healthcare implementation projects
Strong understanding of patient-centered outcomes research stakeholder engagement principles and real-world evidence generation.
Proven ability to manage complex multi-site teams and balance competing priorities.
Excellent organizational writing and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency with research and project management tools (e.g. Airtable REDCap Smartsheets) and collaborative platforms (e.g. Zoom Microsoft Teams).
Preferred Experience:
Experience with multi-site healthcare studies improvement initiatives and research or evaluation methods
Prior experience working with multiple stakeholder advisory groups.
Experience in aging serious illness care primary care or chronic disease a plus.
Job Summary
Responsible for all aspects of project administration and coordination of multiple clinical trials including multi-center trials. Duties include the review of all proposals budgets and contracts and tracking of all milestones and timelines. The development of study related documents completion of data management functions and reporting of safety and endpoints to the study sponsor and IRB. For multi-site trials the overall direction of the clinical sites for protocol adherence is under the direction. Accountable for assuring that the project team that he/she leads meets all deadlines and is also required to maintain a close effectual working relationship with Sponsors Study Coordinators and Principal Investigators.

Essential Functions
-Coordinate the development of investigator-initiated and industry sponsored project documents and timelines and manage any changes including future timeline changes that may result from changes in scope delays in schedule or resource constraints.
-Is responsible for all regulatory maintenance for assigned clinical research and trial projects including IRB submissions biosafety committee submissions FDA submissions and reporting funding agency reporting record maintenance and other related tasks on assigned projects.
-Monitors and manages sub-sites on multi-center clinical research projects including facilitating regular sub-site status meetings overseeing sub-site data collection and quality and collecting sub-site regulatory documentation and ensuring compliance.
-Develop and finalize complete project plans with formalized project milestones and deliverables.
-Facilitate and maintain records of all internal and external communication relevant to assigned clinical trials.
-Responsible for Project Operating Planning Manual development.
-Present and lead presentations at site initiations or trial kick off meetings.
