Hostetter & Hostetter CPAs is a mid-size faith-based firm serving Lancaster County and beyond for over 45 years. We provide tax preparation business consulting and advisory services across farming construction manufacturing non-profit and professional industries. Our team is committed to professional excellence collaboration and serving clients in the Spirit of Christ.
What Youll Do as a Payroll Specialist:
- Prepare payroll using client timesheets ensuring accurate paychecks and compliance with tax requirements.
- File quarterly and annual payroll tax reports with federal state and local entities.
- Support clients with bookkeeping entries related to payroll and payroll taxes.
- Assist with government filings such as fuel tax rebates sales tax remittances 1099s and real estate tax rebates.
- Provide preliminary preparation and final processing of tax return documents during peak tax season.
- Choose to work from our Quarryville or Elizabethtown office with only occasional travel for training a few times each year.
- Work full-time 40 hours per week with a minimum of 35 hours in slower seasons and 45-50 hours during tax season.
Our Ideal Payroll Specialist:
- Experienced: At least one year of payroll and bookkeeping experience with a high school diploma is required; CPA firm experience and QuickBooks knowledge are preferred and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Detail-oriented: Delivers error-free payroll bookkeeping and filings with close attention to detail.
- Relational: Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients government representatives and coworkers.
- Strong Communicator: Demonstrates clear verbal and written communication skills while presenting a professional image.
- Organized & Flexible: Manages time well prioritizes workflow and adapts to shifting needs.
- Problem-solver: Works independently takes initiative and proactively finds solutions.
- Cultural Fit: Thrives in a faith-based value-driven environment that seeks to strengthen team culture positively.
