Maintenance Technician Assistant
Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM 11:00 PM)
Pay: $18 - $20/hour 15% Shift Premium
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role:
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician Assistant to support machine building and general maintenance operations. This position works directly with Maintenance Technicians and production teams to ensure equipment reliability and overall plant efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the repair and maintenance of building presses and equipment
Operate forklifts and man lifts as needed
Support team goals in assembly and press departments
Participate in press setups and continuous improvement efforts
Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safety standards
Perform preventive maintenance tasks and corrective actions on assigned equipment
Follow all maintenance documentation and systems procedures (PM logs work orders downtime tracking)
Serve as wastewater handler after completing appropriate training
Apply and promote Lean Manufacturing principles
Participate in Elimination of Waste Team meetings
Take direction from Maintenance Managers Supervisors and Production Leaders as needed
Support company goals and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Some college or technical training in mechanical industrial or electrical maintenance preferred
2 years of experience in a plant or manufacturing maintenance setting preferred
Basic knowledge of stamping presses conveyors CNCs washers and automation equipment
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and machinery
Basic computer skills (Word Excel)
Familiarity with IATF 16949 ISO 14001 and Q1 standards is a plus
Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
Working Conditions:
Regular lifting (up to 80 lbs) bending standing and repetitive movements
Some ladder work required
Continuous exposure to a noisy manufacturing environment
Must be available for overtime as required
