JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Social Worker will establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with individuals and their families by effectively utilizing professional social work skills. They may review the individuals psychiatric medical and other case records and discuss issues with families and other members of the treatment team. Participate in community engagement and identify and assist clients connection to mental health services. Complete admission screening; conduct psychosocial assessments; make treatment recommendations. Facilitate individual group and family therapy in community spaces; assess availability of services; serve as consumer advocate and coordinate services with community providers. Clinical Social Worker will advocate for and ensure individuals receive appropriate treatment/services that their legal and human rights are protected and promote effective and consistent utilization of services and resources.

1. Provides administrative and clinical support to Director of BSA specially with presentations to stakeholders high risk/crisis clients and assists in covering the program in the absence of the Director.
2. Completes required progress notes biopsychosocial treatment team recommendations written and verbal reports discharge plans and other documents within required timeframes.
3. Prioritizes the individuals treatment needs; assesses impact of treatment on the individual and the family; and in some settings determines which individuals are appropriate for other levels of care.
4. Determines need for services and ensures that referrals for ancillary support and consultative services are noted and made; reviews and updates individual treatment plan according to all applicable guidelines and in response to clinical change; and ensures that arrangements are made and documented for continuation of care well in advance of individuals planned departure.
5. Provides individual therapy to enhance social emotional and behavioral functioning.
6. Advises the individual and family about the nature of the illness needed and available services and how to access them.
7. May identify and provide intervention to individuals in crisis in a range of settings; or provides consultation to others to enable them to appropriately intervene.
8. Assesses the individuals readiness for discharge; identifies needed resources; works with consumers and their families and providers linage to appropriate resources; may conduct follow-up visits.
9. As an integral member of the BSA treatment team ensures that all staff members are kept informed of the clients clinical needs family social adjustment services needed and their availability through clear documentation of the record.
10. Conducts group life-skills training and/or group counseling sessions.
11. Participates with all BSA team members around presentations and BSA events when necessary.
12. May supervise social work students.

6. Ability to understand and adhere to internal and external laws rules and policies
7. Ability to secure the cooperation of and work effectively with others
8. Ability to work independently and to conform to all applicable safety and accountability measures
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Licensed by New York State as a Master level Licensed Clinical Social Worker required; current valid registration certificate
Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges including in crisis situations
Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Comfort and competence working in community-based or field settings
