The Measurement & Analytics Division is among the worlds leading manufacturers and suppliers of smart instrumentation and analyzers working at the heart of industrial digital transformation. The Measurement & Analytics Divisions portfolio consists of analyzers measuring compositions of gases and liquids; instrumentation measuring process variables such as temperature pressure flow and level; force measurement solutions measuring parameters such as flatness thickness and tension; and advanced digital solutions for device management device health check and predictive maintenance. The Measurement & Analytics Division serves key industries such as oil and gas chemical water and wastewater power hydrogen batteries as well as the marine industry. The Division enables the optimization of industrial processes by providing and analyzing data collected from sensing and smart measurement devices. Parameters such as emission levels and production inputs are measured by providing before and after values enabling efficient operations and environmental sustainability through measurement.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid but based out of Houston TX. #LI-Hybrid

The role reports to the Quebec Factory Service Manager. As a Field Service Technician you will operate coordinate and collaborate within the field service team to meet assigned objectives. Working within defined parameters to make decisions apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing commissioning/start-up services troubleshooting/repair services and preventative maintenance on measurement and analytical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install commission calibrate and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ABB analytical systems at client sites
  • Diagnose and repair faults in analytical instruments minimizing production downtime provide after-sales technical support and propose solutions tailored to client needs and train clients and on-site personnel on the use and maintenance of equipment
  • Write detailed service reports outlining interventions corrective actions and recommendations
  • Maintain a strong customer service orientation and contribute to revenue growth by proposing product and service sales

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or related field with 3 years of experience on-site troubleshooting and repair experience in field after-sales service context is required
  • Bachelors Degree or Engineering Degree in electrical physics mechanical electrical or related field with 5 Years of on-site troubleshooting and repair experience in field after-sales service context is preferred
  • Experience with analytical systems spectroscopy gas analysis or industrial automation technologies and excellent problem-solving skills and customer service orientation
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% as required. Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid passport and drivers license.
