Job Summary

As the largest provider of nonpublic special education schools in Maryland Sheppard Pratt operates Type I Type II and residential schools across the state. We also offer a breadth of programs within local school systems that provide care counseling and guidance. Learn more about our schools HERE.

What to expect.

You will lead a team of dedicated professionals across multiple Sheppard Pratt School locations throughout Maryland ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and the implementation of evidence-based practices. Either directly or through delegation you will ensure behavioral management training of staff and caregivers for consistent application of the schools behavior philosophy.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing training and support to staff members on best practices for behavior assessment and treatment.
  • Assuring that Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) are written to guide student progress.
  • Collaborating with teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to support behavioral and emotional development.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education and years and level of related experience.

What we need from you.

  • Masters degree in a related field of study.
  • BCBA certification and current Maryland license as an LBA.
  • 3-5 years of progressively more responsible experience in a special education or behavioral health setting.
  • Must be able to travel to and from different Sheppard Pratt locations and sites on a regular basis.
  • Possession of LCPC LCSWC PsyD or PhD is preferred.
