The Role: Lead I Software Development Engineer in Test

The Team:
The Quality Engineering team works in partnership with other Technology Functions and the Business to ensure quality delivery of our products. The team works in an Agile environment and is located globally. The team is independent in driving all decisions and is responsible for continuously improving customer experience revenue growth and operations enablement through quick turn-around of development of our products with high quality.

As a Lead I SDET you will play a pivotal role in shaping the quality and reliability of our core backend persistence services. Your expertise will ensure that these foundational services not only meet rigorous quality standards but also support the seamless development of applications across the wider enterprise. By adopting an automation-first approach you will drive efficiencies and enhance the testing processes enabling our teams to deliver high-quality software at an accelerated pace.

Whats in it for you:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead SDET to join our team as an individual contributor. This role is focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of distributed systems through comprehensive automated testing strategies including unit functional performance and integration testing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing backend and API software developed in C# on (8) along with familiarity with Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement testing strategies for unit functional performance and integration testing specifically for distributed systems.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for backend and API software using C# 8.
  • Collaborate with technical and product leads to incorporate test automation practices into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Utilize modern test automation frameworks and tools to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Conduct performance testing and analyze system behavior under various load conditions.
  • Identify document and track defects ensuring timely resolution and verification.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in quality assurance and testing methodologies.
  • Advocate for and implement Behavior Driven Development (BDD) frameworks to enhance collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quality engineers on testing best practices and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in quality assurance and testing preferred with a focus on distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in unit testing functional testing and integration testing methodologies.
  • Experience with backend and API testing in C# on (8).
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tools.
  • Knowledge of modern test automation practices and frameworks with a commitment to automation-first as a baseline.
  • Experience with BDD frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
