To strengthen our team we are looking to fill the position of Medical Science Liaison Rare Diseases.

Key Activities:

  • Cultivating strong scientific relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Payers as well as possessing an in-depth understanding of UCB solutions ensuring the appropriate therapeutic solutions are matched with the right patients at the appropriate times.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest scientific advancements clinical research and developments in Rare Diseases treatments.

  • Swift and proactive identification and supervision of significant scientific and medical influencers guided by the dynamics of the local healthcare environment and the needs and motivations of stakeholders (transitioning from actively reaching out to attracting interest).

  • Exploring and pinpointing fresh avenues for enhancing patient well-being including innovative solutions and services.

  • Oversight and generation of data related to products and disease states encompassing activities such as Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS) audits and Real-World Evidence (RWE).

  • Providing assistance for clinical research projects clinical development endeavors and sharing valuable insights with the Medical Solutions Team and Scientific Lead.

  • Acting as the foremost local scientific authority in specific therapeutic domains.

  • Assisting market access colleagues as needed in presenting Real-World Evidence (RWE) Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and clinical information to regional and local payer accounts and formularies also public consultation.

  • Comply with the administrative work to record properly the interactions with the HCPs and activities in field.

  • Develop and comply with a tactic plan aligned with the medical strategy (i.e. scientific interactions aligned with the CFS of the strategy)

  • Comply with the budget assigned to the MSL territory

Primary Expected Outcomes:

  • Assist Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) patients or families and local payers in delivering optimal care that enhances UCBs value proposition position (medical/scientific initiatives) in specific territories.

  • Provide scientific expertise and analysis for strategic initiatives in collaboration with other associated local roles.

  • Internally share knowledge innovation opportunities and patient needs within the organizations core.

  • Leverage Real-World Evidence (RWE) and use it to further strengthen the value that UCB solutions bring to patients.

  • Comply with local KPIs set for the role.

Important Interfaces:

  • HCPs

  • All other internal/external stakeholders (payers consensus leads)

  • Enabling medical roles (Scientific Lead)

  • Part of local / regional multidisciplinary team

  • Local affiliate governance committees


Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Life sciences pharmacy or medicine etc

  • Desirable Masters and Ph.D;

  • Experience in MSL position (Rare Disease and/or High Specialty products);

  • Fluent English;

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is mandatory.

  • Reside in São Paulo;
