About the role

  • Provide safe and effective patient care by taking full responsibility for and/or planning and delivering perioperative nursing care to patients.

  • Make clinical decisions regarding perioperative patient care and management from admission and throughout hospitalisation incorporating discharge planning in the plan of care.

  • Facilitate communication between the patient family medical nursingancillary and Allied Health staff.

  • Evaluate and record progress towards expected outcomes and revisesthe plan of care as necessary.

  • Appreciate the complexity of moral decision making working
    cooperatively with other members of the health care team to resolveethical and clinical issues arising in patient care.

About you

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment

  • Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse.

  • Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team usingeffective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
