The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Aerodynamics Stability and Control Manager (Level K) to join our Stability & Control (S&C) team based in Everett Washington.
The Stability & Control (S&C) team is responsible for establishing and verifying flight characteristics and handling qualities to ensure a safe and certifiable airplane. We support the entire airplane life cycle from the initial concept through to the retirement of the last airplane in our customers fleets.
We operate as a single team supporting all BCA S&C needs rather than being tied to any specific program. This organizational structure facilitates the transfer of knowledge and lessons learned while developing well-rounded airplane-level engineers and teams across the full airplane life cycle. This manager role will oversee approximately 15-25 S&C engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages Aerodynamics Stability & Control (S&C) discipline work statement including scope funding resources and priorities.
Develops both the individuals and the team through multiple engagement mechanisms.
Supports the advancement of S&C discipline core competencies and technical excellence.
Ensures the team understand how group responsibilities align with discipline strategies.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes.
Manages develops and motivates employees.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering.
1 years of experience in leading or managing an engineering team.
3 years of experience with aerodynamics engineering or related engineering fields (flight test flight controls).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelors degree or higher in Aeronautical Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
3 years of experience leading or managing an engineering team in aerodynamics or related field.
