Your Mission
- Assist in the set-up validation and process flow of a materials testing laboratory
- Prepare mechanical and thermal testing specimens according to work instructions including: measuring machining polishing and applying strain gages
- Maintain inventory of consumables needed to carry out routine testing
- Conduct mechanical and thermal testing on composite sandwich structures according to precise testing standards to ensure reliability of tests
- Generate comprehensive test reports and determine if materials meets success criteria
- Ability to maintain a organized laboratory
- Work closely with test engineers to ensure accurate and reliable results
- Training any technicians which may be employed in the future
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedure and regulations
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance and calibration
- Support continuous improvement in concerned testing processes to deliver in line with customer quality cost and demand requirements
Your Story
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required A.S. preferred
- General knowledge of composites materials specifically sandwich composites
- Experience with mechanical and thermal characterization and testing as well as image analysis
- Previous experience with machining (table saw drill press CNC mill etc.)
- Willingness to learn and a drive to succeed
