Job Title: Registered Nurse Medical Surgical/Telemetry
Location: Hyannis Massachusetts 02601
Unit: Medical Surgical
Duration: 13 weeks (extendable)
Shift: 3x12 Nights
Pay Rate: $2547 weekly gross
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit provides high-quality evidence-based patient care in an acute care setting. This role involves utilizing the nursing process collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and ensuring safe efficient and compassionate care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize the nursing process to assess plan implement and evaluate patient care maintaining accurate and current records.
Document assessments across physical psychological social and discharge planning dimensions.
Communicate pertinent data to allied care providers and initiate individualized care plans.
Demonstrate proficiency as charge nurse and act as a resource for patient care staff orientation and education.
Exhibit competency in computerized nursing informatics systems.
Participate in monitoring and evaluating quality of care and adherence to patient safety policies.
Pursue professional development maintain ongoing documentation of learning and update knowledge relevant to patient populations served.
Represent the hospital with professionalism confidentiality and community engagement.
Perform additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Required Skills & Experience:
Recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care facility (within last 2 years).
Telemetry experience required.
Must pass CCHC Pharmacology Exam and CCHC Basic Arrhythmia Exam before start date.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience managing cardiac patients including post-cardiac surgery post-cardiac intervention (femoral sheath monitoring) and post-cardiac cath/pacemaker patients.
PCI (Cardiac Cath) Course.
Chemotherapy/biotherapy certification and practicum.
Orthopedic patient care experience.
Education:
Certifications & Licensure:
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
ACLS preferred.
CAPD certification preferred.
Drug certification preferred.
Orthopedic certification preferred.
