Data Engineer AWS Python Snowflake DBT
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with deep expertise in AWS Python Snowflake and DBT and working knowledge of Charles River and Everest (asset management platforms). This role will support the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and systems that support investment decision-making regulatory reporting and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design build and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using DBT Python and AWS services (Lambda Glue S3 etc.).
- Manage and optimize Snowflake data warehouse environments including performance tuning data modeling and access control.
- Integrate data from Charles River Everest and other financial platforms into the centralized data infrastructure.
- Collaborate with business analysts data scientists and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data pipelines models and integrations.
- Ensure data quality consistency and governance across all stages of the data lifecycle.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production data workflows to ensure reliability and availability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in a data engineering or similar role.
- Proficiency with Python for data processing and scripting.
- Strong experience with AWS data services such as S3 Lambda Glue Athena Redshift etc.
- Expertise in Snowflake data warehouse including SnowSQL performance tuning and secure data sharing.
- Hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and modeling.
- Familiarity or experience with Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS) and Everest (or similar asset management systems).
- Solid understanding of SQL relational databases and modern data architecture.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and using CI/CD pipelines for data deployments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Asset Management Investment Operations or Financial Services.
- Experience integrating data from market data providers custodians or portfolio accounting systems.
- Understanding of data governance frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR SEC).
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
