Job Summary
Skilled Server Automation Engineer to design implement and manage automated solutions for server provisioning configuration patching and maintenance. The ideal will have strong experience with infrastructure automation tools scripting and configuration management platforms. Will play a key role in improving system reliability scalability and operational efficiency across our environments.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and implement automation workflows for server provisioning configuration and patch management.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Ansible Puppet or Terraform.
- Write and maintain custom scripts using PowerShell Bash Python or other scripting languages.
- Manage server lifecycles (installation configuration updates decommissioning) in both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Monitor system performance capacity and reliability automating repetitive tasks where possible.
- Work closely with DevOps Cloud and Security teams to ensure consistent server configurations and compliance.
- Implement and maintain server patching strategies across Windows and Linux environments.
- Troubleshoot automation issues and provide root cause analysis for system incidents.
- Maintain documentation for server automation procedures standards and configurations.
- Contribute to the design of scalable secure and fault-tolerant infrastructure systems.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in server administration and automation.
- Hands-on experience with automation/configuration tools such as Ansible Puppet Chef or Terraform.
- Proficient in scripting languages: PowerShell Bash or Python.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server and Linux systems administration.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or Google Cloud).
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
