POSITION OVERVIEW
dormakaba is seeking a First Shift (6AM 2:30PM) Tool & Die Maker based in Indianapolis IN. This role will report directly to the Production Supervisor and work closely with several production teams. The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for building and repairing customer machine shop tools.
HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $27/hr. $36/hr. Mandatory overtime may be required as needed. (Pay rate to be determined by the education experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Operate machines perform advanced quality inspections troubleshoot equipment
- Use precision measuring instruments for tool set-up perform complex tool changes
- Use hand tools operate lathes grinders milling/boring machines etc.
- Design fixtures/jigs and templates to use as fabrication work aids
- Train and develop others perform daily 5S housekeeping
WHAT WE REQUIRE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in machine shop Tool & Die trade

- Sit or stand at will walk stoop crouch kneel climb balance
- Use hands/fingers to seize hold grasp turn and for fine manipulation
- Push pull reach overhead at or below shoulder level; lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Use close distance color peripheral vision; perceive depth and adjust focus with or without correction
- Communicate and maneuver effectively within a manufacturing environment
