The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the Enrollment Services office maintaining calendars for all staff greeting and guiding visitors and performing clerical duties such as typing letters/memos filing and other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Services. This role also includes overseeing department emails and monitoring the functionality of the AI recruiter Ella ensuring it operates correctly and efficiently.
Required Duties and Responsibilities
- Projects a positive image for the University.
- Answers and directs phone calls for the department including general office and personal lines.
- Oversees and manages department email communications.
- Verifies and monitors the performance of the AI recruiter reporting any issues or inconsistencies.
- Assists with mailings or special projects as needed.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of wrists hands and fingers.
- Visual Abilities: Average acuity for document preparation and inspection.
- Physical Strength: Sedentary work; occasional exertion of up to 10 lbs.
- Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions and solve basic problems.
- Mathematics Ability: Perform basic math compute ratios/precents interpret graphs.
- Language Ability: Read and write complex sentences; communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of Banner and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain office student and departmental records.
- Ability to act quickly and independently.
- Ability to assist Enrollment Services staff.
- Talking: Frequent communication of detailed instructions or ideas.
- Hearing: Able to hear normal conversations and receive information.
- Finger Dexterity: Typing and handling small objects.
- Proper phone etiquette.
Credentials and Experience
- High School diploma required; some college preferred.
- 13 years of experience in a similar position.
- Ability to type 35 wpm.
Wage Range: $17.60 to $19.00 per hour plus generous benefits
