Modern Niagara is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk to join our Building Services and Controls division based in Ottawa. The A/R Clerk will manage the Accounts Receivable subledger ensure timely cash collections and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams to support financial operations and achieve key performance indicators.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the Accounts Receivable subledger with accuracy.
  • Process daily cash receipts and ensure proper allocation.
  • Analyze and reconcile complex customer accounts to resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor AR Aging reports and proactively follow up on overdue payments.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to address invoice issues and ensure prompt payment.
  • Collaborate with Controllers to forecast cash receipts. Partner with operations to meet cash collection KPIs.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and financial analyses as needed.
  • Foster productive relationships across business units and within the finance team.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience in a medium to large organization. Construction industry experience would be an asset.
  • Team player with a customer focus.
  • Integrity and the willingness to own scope of work and associated issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel). Knowledge of Netsuite would be a definite asset.
  • Energy and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness and ability to solve problems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to continuously improve systems and processes with an open mind towards change.
