Burnett Medical Center is looking for a Health Information Manager/Privacy Officer.
SHIFT & HOURS: Full-time (1.0 FTE) Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages operational activities related to Health Information Management (HIM) including supervision of staff record analysis coding abstracting record completeness retrieval/release and confidentiality and security of records. Makes sure training in the Health Information Department is up to date and plans the future direction as well as maintains policies and procedures. Serves as the Privacy Officer and provides privacy training and auditing. Supervises medical staff credentialing.
Requirements
- One year minimum experience required in a Health Information Management department including experience with medical record system keeping.
- One year minimum experience required coding ICD-10 in an acute care setting.
- Knowledge of CPT and professional coding.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations.
- Current RHIA RHIT CPC or CCS credential required.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and aptitude to work with patients and their representatives under stressful situations.
- Ability to work efficiently with computers.
- Experience working with Epic electronic medical record systems and data preferred.
