About the Opportunity:
As an Accounting Services Office Assistant at CLBC you will provide a variety of general administrative assistance in the office.
Tasks include:
- Covering the Accounting Services Help Desk by monitoring phone calls and emails from service providers and staff
- Utilizing the accounting system to research payments vendor and contract information to respond to inquiries
- Escalating issues to the Accounting Services staff
- Logging documents received via mail; sorting contracts and invoices.
- Supporting the Accounts Payable team:
- Printing checklists for entry of invoices; preparing invoice batches for entry to assist with year-end activities
- Reviewing Accounts Payable checklists for accuracy and matching amounts in the AP system for entry of invoices into the next fiscal year.
- Performing general word processing and typing tasks
- Monitoring and ordering office supplies
- Filing accounting documents
What you will bring:
- Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education training and experience;
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an office environment;
- The ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM;
- Solid experience with the MS Office Suite: primarily MS Word MS Excel;
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable is preferred.

- Highly organized
- An excellent eye for detail
- Can manage a high volume of paperwork with excellent accuracy
- Have a proven ability to prioritize and manage tight deadlines
- Can clearly communicate verbally and in writing to a wide range of individuals with patience and tolerance
