ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supervise slot technical team including but not limited to coordinating directing monitoring and evaluating job performance to ensure adherence to policies procedures and internal controls established for the department and company; ensuring proper staffing levels per business needs; reviewing and approving timecards for payroll processing; and conducting annual performance evaluations.
Ensure the highest standards of workmanship are maintained by all technical team members including providing any necessary training coaching and corrective action to improve and maintain such standards.
Develop and implement a training program for all slot technical team members with quarterly benchmarks to ensure continuous learning and skill development. This will include but is not limited to developing managing and administering gaming technical training on bill acceptors monitors card readers and other machine components.
Ensure all gaming software on slot machines and slot servers is current and approved by the appropriate personnel.
Plan and execute the removal moves installation and/or upgrades of all slot machines and slot-related equipment as needed.
Communicate in writing as necessary with the gaming commission for approval to repair machines make modifications and any other required requests.
Maintain close surveillance over the slots area to detect any irregularities on the part of slots players or teams and any potentially dangerous situations. Report and direct all significant matters affecting slot operations to the appropriate personnel concerned i.e. VI Casino Control Commission contractors security surveillance and other staff or management.
Monitor and record gaming machine malfunctions and outages the reason for the problems and parts involved in repairing gaming machines and related equipment.
Schedule track and record testing for card reader and touch screen calibration accuracy and point accumulation totals to provide a trouble-free gaming experience for guests.
Maintain sound accurate and systematic record keeping of all technical aspects in the department including maintenance documentation of all machines.
Oversee ordering of slot parts for the maintenance program.
Maintain an on-hand inventory of parts and tools necessary to efficiently repair the machines.
Ensure all inventory and supplies are maintained and controlled to include the correct usage.
Maintain excellent relationships with vendors and suppliers; ensure that all supplies are adequate in quality price and availability; and remain informed of game and related product performance.
Ensure preventative maintenance instructions are instituted and performed for all equipment on a timely basis.
Ensure that all equipment functions properly and effectively and take corrective action whenever necessary.
Ensure that all equipment is tamper-proof if possible and institute applicable modifications for all affected equipment when a solution is found for a defect.
Coordinate all machine repairs on a timely basis and exhaust all efforts to minimize the downtime of slot machines and associated equipment.
Analyze slot performance by theoretical hold percentages and provide support data and recommendations.
Create reports analyze data and make recommendations regarding the floor mix of slot machines hold adjustments and new game availability to consistently maximize the profitability of the slot floor.
Maintain and produce as necessary slot analysis reports including Master Slots files.
Monitor and ensure slot technicians use provided safety equipment and use all assigned power tools and electronic testing equipment properly.
Ensure consistent key controls and inventory procedures are maintained.
Maintain open communication with the Slot Operations Manager on all matters affecting the overall performance of slot operations.
Collaborate with MOD/Shift Managers to maintain good communication and work relationships.
Maintain complete knowledge of property facilities available to guests.
Maintain a friendly helpful and professional environment and provide prompt service to guests.
Ensure technicians maintain a friendly and pleasant attitude.
May perform functions of the Slot department team as required.
Other tasks as requested by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must be 21 years of age or older upon employment.
High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.
Associate degree or Electronics Certification from a credited school.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience as a Slot Technician in a licensed jurisdiction.
Exhibits superior communication skills.
Demonstrates management skills along with expert direction providing training technical direction and guidance to co-workers.
Experience in performing bench level electronic work.
Ability to perform various mathematical functions about computing slot machines percentages and progressive calculations.
Must be able to obtain a required Gaming License.

Must be capable of using various electronic test equipment and power tools.
Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and effectively deal with customers management employees and members of the business community in all situations.
