Job Description and Qualifications:
Franklin Road Academys after-school program serves students in grades Pre-K3 through middle school. We are looking for reliable motivated friendly people who are enthusiastic about working with children. We need individuals who have had previous experience working with or supervising groups of children in a variety of settings such as camp classroom etc. This job provides invaluable experience for those who are committed to working with children long-term (i.e. future educators counselors social workers physical education etc.). This is also a great opportunity for those pursuing a Masters degree.
Responsibilities:
Extended Day Teacher
- Work from 2:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the school year (flexible hours - possible to leave at 5 p.m. or only work several days a week)
- Ability to communicate with children on their level
- Comfortable assisting children with homework
- Supervise indoor and outdoor games
- Plan appropriate and meaningful activities for students
- Ability to maintain a classroom
- Effectively implement school mission and guidelines
