Summary of Department and Position

NRECAs Education Training & Events team designs delivers and facilitates high-impact learning experiences and events both online and in person that empower cooperative leaders and staff to guide their organizations and communities into the future. The portfolio includes certification programs a robust curriculum of 100 courses leadership development programs a trade show thought leadership events and multi-day conferences. We are looking for an experienced program manager to serve as the day-to-day lead for assigned programs including the design development and delivery of program content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Association leadership on program themes and content.
  • Collaborate with other relevant departments to ensure promotion design of sponsorship campaigns and delivery of programs.
  • Assemble interdepartmental teams of event planners subject matter experts marketers registrars business development leads and resolutions staff to plan carry out and evaluate assigned programs.
  • Develop track and adhere to annual program budgets.
  • Produce reports analytics and ROI documents to guide data-driven cross-team discussions to continually improve the learner experience.
  • Serve as a representative of NRECA to external audiences including partners speakers vendors and contractors.
  • Research new technologies and methodologies to more fully engage NRECA audiences in program content.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education training and additional experience.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience (or equivalent) of business experience with project management and developing conferences in an association environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of meeting and program management including budgets session design speaker acquisition marketing/communications registration meeting logistics audio-visual technology and show production.
  • Ability to lead functional teams without direct supervisory authority over team members.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple projects at various stages of development in a fast-paced and sometimes intense working environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality work.
  • Ability to take initiative based on knowledge of work processes timelines and understanding of the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 4 weeks per year; ability to work nights and weekends for successful execution of events.
  • Ability to report to the office when required.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing computer terminal and extensive reading.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or negligible amount of force to constantly move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time the job is rated for light work.
