This position reports to the Associate Warden of Operations at a multi-custody male correctional facility and performs administrative duties pertaining to the needs of the Associate Warden of Operations. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintaining files & reporting according to DAC policy and procedures to allow quick easy access and retrieval of information requested.
- Composing memos/letters with limited instructions from supervisor proofreading documents for spelling/punctuation/grammar and inputting and comprehending computer-generated data.
- Reviewing completed tasks to ensure accuracy/integrity of information working under stressful conditions in meeting daily/monthly deadlines and compiling data for a variety of sources and reports.
- Receiving/processing sectional mail maintaining confidentiality and working well independently as well as in very proximity to offenders and other staff.
This is afull-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits with established working hours ofMonday-Friday 8am-5pmand may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business need.Note to Current State Employees:The salary grade for this position is NC08(Salary Range:$37782 - $66120). If selected for this position a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience funding availability and internal equity. Based upon these factors a pay increase MAY result.About Central Prison:Central Prison in Raleigh NC has been in continuous service since 1884. It serves as the admission point into prison for adult male felons sentenced to 20 years or more and is the main medical and mental health center for male offenders. It also houses special populations including death row and safe-keepers.While security requires that certain offenders remain in their cells there are more than 260 offender job assignments that include working in the kitchen laundry or canteen. Offenders also work as barbers janitors and clerks. Offenders can attend substance abuse group therapy meetings Bible studies or other worship services. Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
