Bilingual Play-Based Learning Facilitator

The Bilingual Play-Based Learning Facilitator at the Childrens Museum will serve as the Museums content expert in play-based inquiry-driven and experiential learning for school-aged audiences primarily Early Childhood Education (ECE) through 3rd Grade. This position will deliver mission-aligned experiences and programming that nurture imagination curiosity and open-ended exploration in schools in the community and within the Museum. The Facilitator will create welcoming inclusive environments and play a hands-on role in the Museums daily operations and programmatic activation while delivering exceptional guest service both onsite and through traveling school experiences. The Play-Based Learning Facilitator reports to the Community Programs Manager.

Job Specification: Full-time Tuesday-Saturday schedule with additional hours as needed to meet business needs for occasional weekends evenings holidays and events.

Rate: $24.12 - $24.99/hour

Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

• Deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate play-based inquiry-driven and hands-on learning experiences in English Spanish bilingually and with Dual Language Learners for audiences ECE through 3rd gradein schools in the Museum and at community events.
• Collaborate with Program Coordinators and Early Childhood Programs Manager to help shape and implement high-quality programming in The Art Studio The Teaching Kitchen Outdoor Experience Book Nook and Bloom.
• Cross-team and cross-departmental collaboration on projects as assigned modeling a spirit of teamwork and professionalism as a play-based learning content expert.
• Design and facilitate innovative experiential programming that travels to schools and communities in collaboration with the Community Programs Manager.
• Develop and execute play-based activities in the Museum that enhance daily programmatic offerings and activate gallery spaces in new and exciting ways.
• Cultivate a reflective practice that invites feedback and collaboration to elevate programming and experiences that are extraordinary in nature.
• Serve as the point of contact for on-site field trips and scheduled outreach programs in collaboration with the Community Access Coordinator.
• Collect and track attendance of daily programming outreaches and field trips for use in grant reporting and evaluation.
• Maintain inventory of program supplies and resources.
• Responsible for opening/closing and the resetting of exhibits throughout the day while on-site at the Museum.
• Model and mentor the Museum Associate team in playful engagement techniques within gallery spaces.
• Drive to and from off-site community programs and events.
• Provide exceptional guest service by warmly welcoming guests addressing guest concerns promptly and fostering a consistently welcoming atmosphere.
• Train and serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) and assume MOD responsibilities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or documented professional training in STEAM education community programming or other relevant content areas.

Work Experience

• 1 years of experience planning and facilitating inquiry-based hands-on learning programs for children and/or families.
• Experience working in ECE (early childhood education) or informal learning environments (such as Reggio Emilia-based preschools childrens museums libraries zoos aquariums or community-based organizations) strongly preferred.
• Experience in guest service and ability to respond with professionalism and competence in a public-facing role.
• Experience working with neurodivergent audiences and individuals with disabilities.

Skills

• Fluent English and Spanish proficiency writing speaking and comprehension skills is required.
• Familiarity with the Colorado State Academic Standards and 21st Century Skills.
• Ability to design a program or activity plan that illustrates clear goals guiding questions and learning objectives for participants.
• Demonstrated ability to foster open-ended exploration curiosity and creativity in young learners ages birth to 10 years old.
• Demonstrate engaging dynamic presentation and facilitation skills; as well as excellent group management techniques with diverse audiences of varying ages and sizes.
• Demonstrated ability to perform (sing dance act improvise etc) in front of diverse audiences of varying ages and sizes.
• A valid drivers license required and ability to drive to and from off-site activities.

Additional Requirements:

• Abide by all Museum policies and procedures including dress code and attendance policy.
• Fluency with computer software including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office.

• Load unload and set up materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
• Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours).

• Other physical requirements of the position may include but are not limited to moving traversing positioning self to bend stoop crouch remain in a stationary position on the floor and/or reaching.

Work Environment:

This position operates in both an indoor and outdoor environment where variable temperatures light levels crowds are moderate to very noisy sound levels are common. The employee is required to interact and communicate with adults and children frequently and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones and photocopiers as well as common cleaning supplies.
