Job Description

Build your career with Primoris Energy Services as a Subcontracts Manager. Train in Houston TX then take on high-impact energy projects across this role youll lead subcontractor selection negotiate agreements manage performance and drive cost control to keep projects on track. Youll play a key role in risk management compliance and vendor relationships that directly shape project success. Must be able to travel and relocate for the duration of the project. This position qualifies for per diem when requirements are met.

Job Overview:

The Subcontracts Manager is responsible for overseeing and performing the full range of procurement and administration activities associated with the subcontracting process for multiple construction projects to ensure the successful execution of projects cost control and risk management. This includes qualifying suppliers issuing requests for proposals evaluating proposals and maintaining subcontract records in accordance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subcontractor Selection: Identify and evaluate potential subcontractors conduct pre-qualification assessments and participate in the selection process to ensure that subcontractors meet project requirements and quality standards.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate subcontract agreements including terms conditions scope of work and pricing while ensuring compliance with company policies legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Contract Administration: Oversee the administration of subcontract agreements throughout the project lifecycle managing change orders claims and dispute resolution.
  • Vendor Performance: Monitor subcontractor performance schedule adherence and quality of work. Take corrective actions when necessary to ensure project goals are met.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with subcontractors including safety financial and legal risks. Develop risk mitigation strategies and maintain risk registers.
  • Cost Control: Work closely with the project management team to track and control subcontractor costs ensuring projects are delivered within budget.
  • Compliance: Ensure that subcontractors adhere to all safety quality environmental and regulatory requirements as well as company policies.
  • Relationship Management: Foster strong working relationships with subcontractors to promote collaboration and enhance project outcomes.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on subcontracting activities cost performance and risk assessments for project stakeholders and senior management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in subcontract management and drive the implementation of best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in construction management business or a related field. Masters degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • 8 years of experience in subcontracting administration or management in the industrial construction or energy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts procurement and subcontractor management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement software required e.g. SAP JDE Oracle. ViewPoint and pVault preferred.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced high-pressure environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality regulations relevant to the energy industry.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
