Life Skills Educator at Rainbow Acres
Our Life Skills Educator is responsible for ensuring the quality of education for all Ranchers within the Rainbow Acres Academy. This role focuses on building confidence skills and education with the Project Discovery Leading Edge Curriculum as its foundation. The educator fosters a safe and fun environment while designing classes and activities that drive the achievement of the Ranchers goals. This is more than a job its a mission to serve with compassion purpose and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach the Ranchers foundational math skill relevant to daily living.
- Uses hand-on activities such as crafts and visual projects to reinforce learning.
- Promotes personal growth through experiential learning.
- Creates a welcoming and supportive environment for learning and development.
- Support educational programming by collaborating with the education team to plan and deliver engaging classes.
- Encourages self-awareness and goal setting for real-life applications.
Additional Information:
- This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a high level of responsibility and awareness.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelors degree in education with a minimum of two to three years of formal teaching experience preferred.
- A degree in Special Education and/or Vocational Education is desirable.
- Paraprofessional with a minimum of three to five years of experience working with adults with disabilities.
- Ability to meet all clearance requirements including:
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Background check
- Pre-employment physical
- Drug screening
- Reference check
- Verification of absence from the Arizona Adult Protective Services Registry
- Possess and maintain a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Demonstrate strong ethical standards and moral character with sensitivity to the needs of our Residents/Ranchers.
- Evidence of a strong Christian commitment is desirable and aligns with the values of Rainbow Acres.
Skills
- Possess basic word processing and computer skills.
- Experience with Project Discovery Leading Edge Curriculum a plus.
- Strong communication documentation and customer service skills.
- Ability to navigate the terrain of the ranch safely and effectively.
