Description

The Talent Acquisition (TA) Manager represents the lead conduit of talent into The ROW and ensures the ongoing and future organizational talent demands are met exceeded and measured. The TA Manger is responsible for planning developing and implementing an effective talent acquisition strategy and creating a seamless and swift on-boarding process for new team members at The ROW. This position in on-site in Reno.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for overseeing the TA Specialists
  • Develops recruitment strategy for active and passive job seekers. This may include job posting optimization recruiting marketing channel development job board procurement digital and non-digital employment marketing comprehensive recruitment campaign planning talent planning etc.
  • Manages full circle recruiting process to meet staffing goals. This encompasses advertising networking job fairs interviews direct hires on-boarding etc.
  • Identifies and sources appropriate talent for current open roles within the organization
  • Assists with both external and internal hiring efforts (internal recruitment meaning assessment of employees for different or more senior roles)
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services colleges employment agencies media and internet sites; providing organization information opportunities and benefits
  • Actively participates in all staffing related activities ie: job fairs DETR Veterans job fairs local universities on-line job boards etc.
  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and job qualifications and working with management to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood
  • Assesses applicants knowledge skills soft skills and experience to enable the best placement
  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules escorting applicants to interviews when needed
  • Counsels candidates on corporate benefits salary union affiliation (if applicable) and corporate environment
  • Extends offers of employment within company procedures and guidelines
  • Facilitates the new hire on-boarding process and assists new team members as needed to complete the process
  • Identifies future talent needs by proactively recruiting and sourcing; develops talent pool or social engagements
  • Uses metrics to create reports and identifies areas of improvement
  • Provides regular feedback and updates to hiring managers and HR leadership
  • Develops strong relationships between business leaders in the community and HR
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Manages the J-1and H2B programs international interns; advising management on placement and requirements needed
  • Manages and ensures the success of internship programs by developing relationships with local colleges
  • Uses sophisticated applicant tracking systems to track applicants through the selection phase through to on-boarding
  • Assists with special functions initiated by HR
  • Regular and predictable attendance in accordance with The ROW policy
  • Understands and complies with all hotel/casino and departmental policies and procedures
  • Other job related duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Human Resources preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Three to five years of experience in Human Resources
  • Experience in managing applicant tracking systems
  • Experience in candidate sourcing solutions
  • Conversational Spanish is preferred
  • Certificate/License: PHR or SPHR preferred but not necessary

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of general principles of recruiting
  • Knowledge of staffing systems
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and team members
  • Good organizational skills required along with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Read write and communicate verbally in English (Spanish helpful)
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining records writing reports and responding to correspondence Ability to interpret adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
  • Knowledge of mentoring negotiating instructing supervising persuading and speaking with people

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment
  • Must be able to maneuver around office and property
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to bend crouch kneel twist and work at a desk/counter when performing functions of the job
  • Office environment may include variable temperature and lighting levels
  • Casino environment may include smoke and variable temperature lighting and noise
