We are seeking a Process Engineer to design develop test and optimize robotic welding systems and integrated manufacturing processes. This role will focus on improving human work factors product quality and production efficiency while ensuring safety compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize robotic welding processes (MIG TIG spot welding).
- Program and troubleshoot robotic systems (FANUC ABB KUKA Yaskawa).
- Develop welding fixtures and jigs to ensure repeatability and precision.
- Establish and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) PQRs and SOPs.
- Apply failure mode analysis root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Implement and monitor weld quality standards (penetration porosity strength).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing quality design and controls teams.
- Support commissioning of new robotic welding systems and equipment.
- Drive safety compliance with ANSI/RIA R15.06 OSHA and risk assessment standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for cycle time uptime and quality.
- Contribute to Advanced Quality Planning (PFMEA DOE R-PFMEA V&V).
- Analyze process and weld data using Excel Power BI or Python.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 35 years of experience in manufacturing process or quality engineering.
- Hands-on experience with robotic welding and automation systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints (GD&T).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality software.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
