Job Description

Your mission
War Child Alliance is seeking to engage a qualifiedSafeguarding Training Consultant to:
  • Review our existing online safeguarding induction package currently being offered through the Kaya platform for all WCAF staff
  • Review other virtual and in person training materials designed for the following sessions:
    1. Induction
    2. Refresher
    3. Leadership & Executive
    4. Country Offices
    5. Safeguarding in Emergency Response
You will:
  • Conduct a review of WCAFs current safeguarding training materials online and other virtual spaces and in person
  • Identify content gaps
  • Engage with the I&S team and key staff across the WCAF structure to understand further the needs of the organisation
  • Engage with a selection of our local partners to understand their training needs
  • Provide an assessment of the Kaya platform on the following:
    1. Effectiveness as a training delivery resource
    2. User experience
    3. Current I&S training offer
    4. Comparison with other online platforms for I&S training delivery
  • Develop safeguarding training packages tools and materials aimed at different groups of WCAF staff as well as local partners. Update and adapt the packages to ensure they are fit for purpose in an emergency as well as development contexts.
  • Deliver Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions for selected WCAF staff
  • Provide recommendations for WCAF to sustain safeguarding learning and capacity over time.
  • Produce training materials including facilitator guides/manuals presentation slides handouts case studies and exercises


Deliverables

  • Inception Report outlining the methodology workplan and consultation schedule.
  • Review Report following consultation and training needs assessment summarising key findings and training needs.
  • Updated Safeguarding Training Packages and materials including
    1. Facilitator manual
    2. Slide decks
    3. Participant materials
    4. Case studies and group exercises
  • One ToT session for appropriate staff

Duration and Timeline

The assignment is expected to take approximately20 days spread over 3 months beginning in Q3 2024 with a flexible start date. A detailed schedule of activities and deliverables will be agreed upon during the inception phase.

Budget

The budget for this assignment should not exceed10000 (excluding any travel costs)

Reporting and Coordination

The Consultant will report to the Head of Global Integrity & Safeguarding and work closely with the Global and Regional Integrity & Safeguarding Advisors


Your profile
  • Extensive experience in safeguarding child safeguarding and integrity with humanitarian and development organisations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering safeguarding child safeguarding and integrity training including for emergency settings.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding risks and best practices
  • Proven ability to deliver participatory engaging trainings
  • Strong interpersonal facilitation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with WCAF regional operating contexts.
