The Grade 4 Instrument Technician performs a senior role in CSD. They are expected to carry out all the duties of the Grade 3 Instrument tech (processing autoclaving and distributing sterile supplies to all internal and external customers) with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
The Position
Responsible for processing autoclaving and distributing sterile supplies to all internal and external customers.
Liaise with all staff in the Operating Suite to assist with the provision of individual holistic care to ensure the highest standard of safe and skilled practice is provided which is consistent with the established objectives of the Nursing Department.
Able to become an integral member of a nursing team to provide optimal patient care for all patients at St John of God Healthcare Geelong their families and significant others.
Checking and managing of loan sets and prosthesis as required.
Ordering and maintenance of stock levels.
Cataloguing and updating of inventory of instruments.
Facilitates regular servicing of inventory and equipment within the SSU area.
Participation in the validation of CSD equipment.
You will have a Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services and a demonstrated ability to apply Infection Control and Occupational Health and Safety standards as well as effective documentation skills.
To succeed you will be able to prioritise and perform well under pressure and possess analytical and teamwork skills with a strong customer focus.

Salary $47.30 per hour (includes casual loading) plus 12% superannuation
