Upfit Technician Position Summary
Glick Fire Equipment Company Inc. is a family-owned-and-operated business that employs more than 100 people throughout Pennsylvania. We offer high quality products and service for Fire & EMS companies. The Upfit Technician will work Monday Friday; 7:30am 4:00pm alongside other customer service employees to achieve optimum efficiency and excellent customer service in keeping with the values and vision of Glick Fire Equipment.
Upfit Technician Job Responsibilities
- Install aftermarket equipment including but not limited to: electronics lights sirens switches accessory equipment radios computers scene lighting tool mounting in-car cameras and other customer-specified equipment
- Install repair and troubleshoot 12-volt electrical systems
- Use hand tools to complete equipment installation
- Install equipment according to work order and drawings
- Assist with maintaining all shop equipment to ensure proper care storage & inventory
- Complete work orders and timecards in a timely fashion while following proper safety procedures and wearing appropriate safety equipment
- Work collaboratively within the company to advance values of teamwork innovation customer service professional development and meeting challenges
- Develop respectful and cooperative relationships with co-workers including a willingness to assist where needed
- Perform other job-related duties within the scope of this job classification as assigned
Upfit Technician Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- A valid Pennsylvania drivers license is required; a Pennsylvania Commercial Drivers License (PA CDL) with air brake & tanker endorsement is preferred
- Installation and/or upfit experience preferred
- Electrical knowledge of 12-volt electrical systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and bend at the knees
- Must be a self-starter and have a high level of personal drive for success
- Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility
- Trustworthy responsible organized and detailed
