What you will be doing:

You will be responsible for the creation and improvement of component/assembly designs ensuring that they meet their requirements and product attributes of life cost availability and safety margins.

Additionally you will:

• Work closely with manufacturing quality and analytical teams to ensure the product is manufacturable and meets all requirements.
• Identify potential improvements to product design to increase drumbeat and or unit costs.
• Be responsible for co-ordination of non-conformance assessments integrating across design and analysis areas.
• Support the IPPR process for the NPI programmes.
• Providing supervision coaching and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
• Setting positive example for the continual improvement of the workplace and our culture.
• Organising and leading a highly motivated team to deliver a high paced challenging scope of work.
• Document and verify information against sound mechanical engineering practices and references.
• Publish safety and technical reports which are subjected to customer and regulatory scrutiny.

• You will have experience in Mechanical engineering design but this does not need to be limited to Submarines.
• It is preferable that you are Degree Qualified or Apprentice Trained in a relevant engineering discipline however this is not essential as experience is equally beneficial.
• External Skills/Experience can be from industries such as Civil Nuclear Marine Petro-Chemical and Oil & Gas.
