Position Summary:

As the Physician Service Specialist you will support the practice of your assigned Qualified Medical Examiner (physician). You will engage with your assigned doctor in advance of his/her clinic days to ensure preparedness on the day of evaluation.


Your role will include delivering a high level of customer service and physician support leading up to and throughout the medical evaluation and offering administrative support before during and post examination. To be successful in this position you must enjoy collaborating and being part of a team thrive in a fast-paced environment have excellent customer service time management problem-solving skills deliver outstanding support to the physician/applicant have a positive attitude and willingness to help where needed.


The Physician Service Specialist rolemakes a difference in the experience we offer to physicians by providing a unique blend of skills and knowledge to prepare for and conduct the scheduled evaluation.The Physician Service Specialistmust be a multiskilled professional responsible for performing both administrative and minimal clinical tasks while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining a positive physician/applicant engagement. The MA will be expected to support the Physicians schedule preferences evaluation preparation and post evaluation support. The MA will be expected to actively participate in quality improvement efforts with an emphasis on the importance of the individual claimant and physician. We expect this effort to account for up to 80% of your weekly responsibilities.


When not supporting your assigned physician you will be expected to act as a member of our Care Team engaging non-assigned physicians via phone chat email and SMS to support them as needed.We expect this effort to vary and could be as much as 40% of your weekly responsibilities.


Schedule:

MDpanels physicians have varying schedules and therefore our Physician Service Specialist provides services that align with their assigned physicians evaluation schedule.


Work setting:

This Physician Service Specialist position will be expected to support remote and in-person exams across the State of CA and will be expected to travel approximately 5 days per month. When not traveling this role will be home based.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate timely and effectively with the assigned physician.
  • Support physicians preferences leading up to the day of evaluation this may include working to better align their eval schedule and ensuring all day of evaluation materials are complete with the applicants prior to their visit with the Physician.
  • Ensure the clinic is open clean and prepared for applicants and physicians to arrive. If supporting a remote evaluation arriving on the Zoom in advance of the applicant to ensure preparedness and communicating with the Physician consistently so they can log on at the appropriate time.
  • Welcome applicants upon arrival verifying their identity and directing them to the correct location.
  • Greeting the physician and ensure they have what they require from MDpanel for their day of evaluations.
  • Ensure the days schedule is being kept adjusting it based on no-shows or late arrivals where necessary.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the clinic facility ensuring adequate supplies are stocked. This includes ordering any office or clinic supplies that are short in supply.
  • Prepare the clinic room before and after each evaluation.
  • Perform basic clerical tasks such as filing documents making copies and data entry.
  • Ensure all forms are completed scanned and uploaded on the day of evaluation prior to completing your shift.
  • Maintain a high level of physician and applicant satisfaction by always providing positive interactions.
  • Always understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Close and secure the clinic at the end of the evaluation day.
  • An understanding of all MDpanel workflow systems to support the Physician from point of schedule through report submission.


Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience in front or back office healthcare administration required.
  • Physiology Anatomy and medical terminology knowledge a plus.
  • Must display excellent customer service skills focused on delivering premium experience.
  • Experience with intake assessments and managing new examinee forms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Professional demeanor with strong customer service attitude.
  • Must be reliable to arrive on time at our clinical facilities.
  • Must be open to travel approximately 5 days per month.
  • General computer proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to solve problems and think critically.
  • Experience with monitoring and recording vitals for patients a plus (training is available)
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task is a must.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently
is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 40 pounds.
