Must be able to move and stand for several hours at a time.

Under the direction of the FJJMA Security Supervisors responsible for the security of the museums art collection the museums facility and its use. The ability to exercise some discretion ingenuity and independent judgment with a welcoming and friendly attitude. Flexible schedule with ten to fifteen hours per week including Sundays.

Representative Duties:

  • Responsible for safeguarding the museums world-renowned art collection and the facility in-which it is on display.

  • Security guards must be able to provide museum visitors with accurate information pertaining to the museum facility with an attitude of courtesy and professionalism. As public-interacting team members security personnel are expected to contribute to the welcoming and accommodating atmosphere the museum fosters to its guests.

  • Security guards must ensure guests follow safety guidelines required for the protection of the art museum building but also for staff and visitors.

  • Under the direction of Security Supervisors aid museum staff members on as-needed occasions that may affect the museums collection or facility.

  • Security guards must possess a team-oriented attitude and enjoy working with museum staff and visitors on a daily occurrence.

  • Security guards will be expected to have the flexibility to work weekends nights and some holidays on occasion.

  • Security guards must have knowledge of two-way radio usage and proper radio etiquette.

  • Security guards must possess the ability to assist as needed with the set up and take down of equipment for museum functions special events and other programs within the museum. This includes under the direction of Security Supervisors to assist staff on a needed basis with mailings front desk assistance deliveries and moving heavy objects and crates.
