Senior Technical Officer / Technical Officer ()
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the animal house at the School to ensure high-quality animal care and user safety.
Routine animal room management responsibilities include but are not limited to providing animal handling training to users managing the booking system in the animal house supervising users on the proper use of the facilities in the animal room and purchasing chow diet or other necessities/consumables. The duty also involves supervising lab attendants in the animal room or providing assistance if needed. The appointee may be required to assist with other lab teachings in the field of biomedical science or chemistry.
Applicants should have a recognised bachelors or masters degree in the related field or significant experience as well-trained personnel in animal room management may also be considered.
Applicants should be motivated hardworking flexible and able to work under pressure.
Applicants with less experience may be considered for the rank of Technical Officer.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for up to two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review mutual agreement and availability of funding. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
