Are you a strategic storyteller who thrives on turning complex ideas into compelling proposals DJ&A is looking for a Proposal Specialist to lead the development of high-quality persuasive and compliant proposals that help us win work and grow our impact across the Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry.

This is an exciting opportunity to build and shape this new position from the ground uphelping to define best practices streamline processes and elevate the quality of proposals across the company.

Youll join a creative collaborative and fast-paced group that sits at the heart of DJ&As growth. This role is ideal for someone who loves writing problem-solving and helping technical teams communicate their strengths in ways that resonate with clients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Proposal Efforts: Lead the collective effort of DJ&As proposal coordinators assistants writers and subject matter experts to develop compliant client-centric proposals. Develop and manage a firmwide proposal development schedule assign tasks and coordinate resources to meet deadlines.
Shape our Story: Craft strategic messages that differentiate DJ&A from competitors in light of client needs and aspirations. Collaborate with technical staff to capture insights and shape them into strategic client-focused content. Write and edit original client-focused proposal narratives and marketing copy highlighting DJ&As value and differentiators.
Build Better Systems: Oversee our content library and help evolve tools templates and processes that make our proposal efforts smarter and faster.
Define the Role: As this is a new position youll play a key part in shaping how the proposal function integrates into DJ&As broader business development strategy.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Communications Marketing Journalism or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
5 years of experience writing and managing the proposal lifecycle preferably in the AEC industry
Exceptional writing skills
Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals and meet critical deadlines
Strong strategic thinker with powerful critical thinking skills
Highly collaborative curious and possesses high standards for quality
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint)
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines
Strong alignment with DJ&A Core Values

Preferred Qualifications

3 years in the Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry or a related field

Location

Any DJ&A office

Work Schedule Salary and Benefits

Full-time weekdays 40 hours per week 9/80 work schedule occasional overtime required to meet deadlines
Base pay of $34-$50 per hour depending on experience and location
