Job Overview:

This position functions as a Lead DevSecOps/Azure DevOps/OpenShift Engineer responsible for supporting large-scale projects within the State of Michigans Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The engineer will provide leadership and direction ensuring alignment of platform solutions with business requirements. The role also involves mentoring team members advancing organizational maturity and consulting with development teams on best practices.

Candidates must possess deep technical expertise in Azure DevOps Kubernetes/OpenShift CI/CD automation containerization and ELK Stack administration along with strong troubleshooting documentation and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor teams in DevSecOps Azure DevOps and OpenShift practices.
• Design and implement Azure DevOps (ADO) solutions including Wiki Work Items Git Repos Pipelines and Pull Requests.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines for deploying and containerized applications across Linux Windows SQL Server Oracle JBoss and Tomcat platforms.
• Create and manage ADO Build/Deploy pipelines to build container images and deploy applications.
• Troubleshoot application issues in the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environment.
• Develop and maintain Docker images S2I images Stateful sets Helm charts and CRD configs.
• Manage Docker Image Repositories (e.g. Quay).
• Administer and optimize the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch Logstash Kibana 8.x) including performance tuning and index management.
• Configure Logstash pipelines Grok patterns and Elastic Beats (Filebeat Heartbeat).
• Integrate SonarQube Coverity Black Duck with ADO pipelines for code quality and security.
• Write and maintain automation scripts using Linux shell (bash ksh) and Python.
• Debug Java application errors.
• Configure and troubleshoot SSL TCP/IP Networking LDAP.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployments upgrades and ongoing system support.
• Produce and maintain process documentation and automation standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• 8 years of experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• 8 years in Linux shell scripting (bash ksh).
• 5 years of expertise in application containerization and orchestration.
• Strong background in DevSecOps practices infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Red Hat OpenShift v4
  • Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Docker & Source-to-Image (S2I)
  • Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch Logstash Kibana 8.x)
  • SonarQube Black Duck Coverity
  • Python scripting
  • NGINX WebSphere
  • LDAP SSL TCP/IP Networking
