Job Description:
- The Data Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality datasets to stakeholders by sourcing and integrating data from multiple platforms.
- This role supports Business Intelligence (BI) visualization and functional teams facilitating data discovery and enabling data-driven processes including the development of leading and trailing metrics dashboards and reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate consistent and secure datasets that support key business metrics.
- Utilize strong knowledge of traditional data warehousing data structures and tools to organize data into optimal structures that cater to cross-functional and cross-process data requirements.
- Leverage an understanding of data systems and business processes to define and deliver innovative data integration solutions.
- Exhibit a problem-solving mentality demonstrating persistence in uncovering answers.
- Simplify data source queries for functional and analytics users identifying optimal methods for preparing and navigating datasets while implementing data quality control measures and communicating data issues or gaps in a timely manner.
- Adapt to changing tools technologies and data environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver insights and maintain a robust data pipeline.
- Utilize business acumen and stakeholder input to identify necessary data for process enablement translating it into the appropriate measures at the right granularity.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with leaders in Supply Chain Management and Commercial functions as well as IT Data Stewards Global Data Governance and Global Crop Science COE teams.
Key Working Relationships:
- Collaborate closely with Product Supply Commercial and Finance while partnering with Hub IT Data Stewards Global Data Stewards and Global Commercial COE Teams.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science Data Engineering Data Science or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working with data including Finance Data Warehousing and Data Analytics; direct experience in the Business Intelligence field is required; experience in the Ag Industry and/or supply chain is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in one or more Business Intelligence Data Integration tools (e.g. Alteryx Fabric Google Cloud Console Trifacta Paxata Informatica Talend Ascential); experience with Data Prep Tools is preferred.
- Strong competence in working with data in relational databases using SQL or equivalent.
- Excellent critical thinking analytical and problem-solving skills within the data domain.
- Exceptional communication skills capable of engaging effectively with all levels of business leadership.
