Job Title: Welder III (MIG)

- Reports To: Welding Supervisor
- Schedule: Monday Friday OT and Weekends as needed
Position Summary:
Senior-level MIG (GMAW) welder performing high-precision welds on structural sheet and stainless assemblies with minimal supervision. Reads complex drawings and weld sequences fits/tacks accurately controls distortion and mentors Welder I/II teammates. Works to applicable AWS codes (D1.1 D1.3 D1.6) and meets internal quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform advanced MIG welds across multiple positions and materials per WPS and engineering drawings.

Read/interpret detailed weld symbols and sequences; plan fit-up and distortion control.

Set up and verify jigs/fixtures; ensure accurate alignment prior to final welds.

Prep joints (clean bevel gap) maintain proper parameters and complete quality documentation.

Self-inspect using visual standards and fillet gauges; correct defects to meet acceptance criteria.

Maintain a clean organized and safe weld station; follow 5S and all safety/SOP requirements.

Mentor Welder I/II team members; share best practices and assist with skills development.
Qualifications:

5 7 years professional welding experience in fabrication/manufacturing with proven advanced MIG proficiency.

Current certification (or ability to certify on hire) to AWS codes: D1.1 (Structural Steel) D1.3 (Sheet Steel) D1.6 (Stainless Steel).

Strong blueprint reading; fluent with weld symbols and complex weld sequences.

Able to work independently prioritize work and lead smaller tasks or trainees.

Quality-focused with excellent attention to detail and documentation.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Frequent standing/walking; bending kneeling squatting; repetitive hand/arm motions.

Lift/carry/push/pull up to 40 lbs (heavier with assistance).

Work around heat welding fumes/particulates sparks and moderate to high noise; use required PPE.
