Security Clearance:
Education/ Certification Mandatory:
- JD or equivalent degree Bar Admission.
- This position requires U.S. Citizenship or that the individual meets the definition of U.S. Person found at 22 CFR 120.62 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Work Experience Mandatory:
- At least 12 years post-law degree experience.
- Working knowledge of legal research tools.
- Demonstrated outstanding legal writing skills; requires outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in common software applications Lexis- Nexis and West Law.
- Ability to consistently deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure.
Work Experience Nice To Have:
- Working experience with DOE
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supervises junior attorneys to ensure work is being properly and efficiently performed.
- Performs expert legal research and writing on extremely sophisticated legal issues.
- Reviews investigative reports from various executive agencies prepares summaries of those reports and identifies matters requiring close Department review.
- Conducts high-level analysis of facts evidence and legal authorities in connection with investigations and/or litigation.
- Prepares persuasive legal memoranda motions and briefs which synthesize facts evidence and legal authorities.
- Assists in the policy area analyzing and drafting comments on legislative proposals.
- Prepares correspondence for signature of government officials on a variety of complex issues.
- Drives cost efficiencies through use of technology including use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to limit billable hours.
