Job Summary

Attention current RPI Employees!The Manager of Student Services will oversee the design and delivery of support services to students in the School of Architecture serve as Lead Advisor and direct students professional development in Architecture through a series of identified developmental milestones that align with the institutes advisement model. The Manager of Student Services is responsible for creating and implementing student services and professional development strategies in concert with CCPD and other institute partners for undergraduate and graduate Architecture students. The Manager will also participate in planning events and activities on advising retention open houses recruiting and orientation programs. The Manager will also work closely with the Undergraduate Chair on managing the course scheduling and course catalog for all Architecture programs.

Job Duties

  1. Collaborate with the Dean and Associate Deans to align student services with the mission of the School and Institute. Develop procedures and training programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and professional standards. Oversee and participate in student-focused events including orientation open houses accepted student days and recruitment activities. Plan and execute the Schools annual Career Fair.

Lead a student services team that is responsible for providing a wide range of services including recruitment registration orientation personal support counseling disability services international programs referrals strategic enrollment management career planning and other activities that promote student success. Develop and initiate advising efforts and programs to engage in proactive outreach and communications to Architecture students. Provide supervision direction and guidance to assigned staff. Provide effective coaching/counseling to staff when necessar
  3. Manage NAAB requirements and reporting including data collection annual report preparation and coordination with faculty leadership. Oversee self-assessments student surveys and KPI tracking for program criteria. Ensure faculty assessment matrices are current and integrated with Heliocampus. Maintain transfer student guidelines in line with NAAB policies.
  4. Compile and analyze statistical reports including Cost of Attendance data enrollment trends projections and student yield metrics to support strategic planning and reporting. Collaborate with School of Architecture leadership on faculty workload planning. Manage faculty nominations and coordinate the selection of student award recipients.
  5. Serve as the primary advisor for the School of Architectures The Arch program. Monitor and support progress across five Bachelor of Architecture cohorts and transfer students ensuring accurate tracking and completion of Arch away semester requirements. Communicate program details and promote available pathways to current and prospective students. Collaborate with The Arch Office CCPD and the Registrars Office as needed. Oversee select student services initiatives and special programs including the Architecture League Student Day and the Dezeen exhibition.
  6. Maintain thorough knowledge of undergraduate and graduate degree requirements. Collaborates with the Undergraduate Chair and the Associate Deans to ensure that Architecture students are assigned a faculty advisor and assist faculty with challenging advising cases such as counseling students on academic curricular career and personal development. Monitor and track students that receive an EWS. Coordinate with instructors and advisors on any tutoring needs. Collaborate with other offices on campus to provide optimal services to Architecture students and address and support diverse issues such as violations of the Student Handbook student health and wellness concerns and other forms of student support; to include interfacing with campus offices regarding career and internship opportunities off-campus experiences and other student support services.
  7. Develop and distribute advising materials including curriculum templates syllabi handouts and informational summaries for faculty and students. Partner with academic leadership to produce enrollment analyses strategies and reports. Recommend and implement improvements to technological systems to enhance student services.
  8. Update the student affairs team on changes to academic policies from the Faculty Senate and Registrar. Represent the School of Architecture on committees that enhance academic support services. Serve on Architecture and Institute curriculum and student services committees.
  9. Plan and coordinate the production of the Architecture class schedule. Develop a schedule for the vertical and studio final reviews each semester & forecast the need for any summer course offerings in consultation with the Undergraduate Chair. Create timelines for data entry and supporting tasks establish protocols edit materials write original copy as needed and collect review evaluate and process catalog materials for Architecture in collaboration with Architectures academic leadership.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $75000 - $80000

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidates salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget internal equity and the final candidates qualifications experience education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaers good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
