Reader Training: The W&L admissions office will host a two-day training session on Wednesday October 29 and Thursday October 30 to review application reading objectives class priorities and system training. Travel and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed for on-campus attendance. Zoom attendance will be available.
Pay: $30.00 per hour to be invoiced monthly according to services provided
Essential Functions:
Application Readers play a critical role in helping the undergraduate admission staff review a large and diverse applicant pool with care optimism and integrity.
In keeping with a whole-person evaluation philosophy readers will be responsible for reviewing high school transcripts personal essays recommendation letters and other application materialsconsidering them in the context of each students life experiences and backgroundand submitting thorough and detailed evaluation notes.
Attend the October 2930 training and complete required preparation meetings and modules.
Maintain communication with the Admissions Office to ensure evaluation notes and processes meet established expectations.
Participate in regular virtual reader meetings. Application Readers will work closely with full-time admissions staff as they review applications.
Essential Qualifications:
A bachelors degree is required.
Must have experience in a relevant field such as college admissions college counseling community-based organizations or higher education marketing/communications. Direct experience in selective college admissions is highly desirable.
Must demonstrate strong computer skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
Must be able to work collaboratively and read thoroughly under time constraints.
Must possess strong analytical skills and concise clear writing ability.
