The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Gift Services. This role is essential in ensuring that gifts are recorded accurately donor intent is honored and our philanthropic efforts are supported by efficient reliable systems and processes.
As a leader the Assistant Director oversees daily operations of the Gift Services team optimizes business processes and maintains compliance with institutional legal and regulatory standards. This position requires a balance of operational oversight technical expertise and team leadership.

Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Operations:
Supervise the Gift Services team with a focus on accuracy responsiveness and efficiency.
Oversee day-to-day gift processing operations and serve as a backup for processing batches when needed.
Track and report team performance to ensure quality and timeliness.
Gift Processing & Quality Assurance:
Ensure accuracy of all recorded gifts by validating batches and reviewing entries in line with university policies and IRS guidelines.
Oversee gift posting from the donor database (Blackbaud CRM) to the universitys financial system (Workday).
Manage adjustments to recorded gifts ensuring compliance with donor intent and institutional requirements.
Major & Complex Gift Administration:
Support major gift commitments including adjustments to funds schedules and donor agreements.
Provide backup support for entering and managing major gift commitments.
Financial Close & Compliance:
Lead and participate in monthly fiscal year-end and calendar year-end gift processing and adjustment activities.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IRS charitable contribution rules and best practices in gift recording.
Represent UCF in professional networks to stay informed on trends in philanthropy and gift administration.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree and 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with gift management and database systems preferably in a higher education or non-profit setting.
Proven ability to evaluate and improve business processes.
Familiarity with Blackbaud CRM or similar.
Experience with event registration systems and processes.
Strong understanding of IRS charitable contribution rules and regulations.
