Job Summary
Position: AWS Lead Data Engineer (Ingeniero de Datos AWS)
Location: Mexico (Mexico City Guadalajara Monterrey) Hybrid as per Infosys Mexico policy (CST time)
Role Overview
As an AWS Lead Data Engineer you will design build and manage scalable data architectures on AWS. You will develop data models integrate diverse data sources implement governance policies and ensure secure efficient data storage and retrieval. This role requires strong technical expertise leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.

As an AWS Lead Data Engineer you will design build and manage scalable data architectures on AWS. You will develop data models integrate diverse data sources implement governance policies and ensure secure efficient data storage and retrieval. This role requires strong technical expertise leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
- Design and implement large-scale high-performance data solutions on AWS.
- Develop data models ETL pipelines and integrate structured/unstructured data sources.
- Convert Hive SQL to AWS Glue-based SQL and secure EMR clusters using KMS or customer-managed keys.
- Optimize data platforms using AWS services (EMR Redshift Glue S3 DynamoDB Kinesis Athena Lake Formation).
- Prepare architecture/design briefs and reusable artifacts (e.g. CloudFormation templates).
- Advise customers on architecture validation performance tuning and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance scalability and operational excellence.
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
- 7 years of IT experience including data engineering and cloud solutions.
- Bilingual (Spanish & English) strong verbal and written communication.
- Proven experience implementing AWS services in enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of infrastructure (networking storage hardware optimization).
- AWS Certification: Solutions Architect Developer or Big Data Specialty.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Big Data tools: EMR Hadoop Spark Hive
- Databases: Oracle MySQL PostgreSQL
- NoSQL: DynamoDB MongoDB Cassandra
- Data Warehousing: Redshift Teradata Vertica
- Data migration and integration
- Expertise in AWS services: EC2 EMR Redshift Glue S3 Kinesis Athena Lake Formation.
- Familiarity with streaming platforms (Kafka Kinesis) and HDFS.
- Strong problem-solving leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under tight timelines and manage complex requirements.
- Flexible to work extended hours if needed.
- Self-motivated proactive and a strong team player.
