JOB OVERVIEW Conexus Indianas mission is to accelerate Indianas advanced manufacturing and logistics (AML) industry success by engaging a diverse network of industry academic philanthropic and public-sector partners. This network is aligned and activated around a unified vision to affirm Indiana as the center of innovation and digital transformation for AML. An initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) Conexus is focused on leveraging innovation and technology and addressing the most pressing talent needs to make AML more productive and profitable.
The Director of Talent Programs (Director) supports the talent team under the guidance of the Senior Vice President of Talent Strategy and Programming in advancing Conexus Indianas mission to build a world-class education and workforce pipeline for advanced manufacturing and logistics through (i) the development implementation and growth through the successful alignment of educational programming to workforce needs (ii) community involvement designed to further Conexus Indianas overall leadership in responding to relevant opportunities and workforce challenges and (iii) the administration of operational functions in support of the mission. The Director will assist in managing the talent team and associated programs across secondary and post-secondary education and workforce initiatives. This position will collaborate with various stakeholders to help align career and technical education and workforce programs aimed at improving the connectivity between industry and education. The Director is expected to identify new opportunities lead through strategic program planning and development manage implementation with fidelity and work with various stakeholders to expand access to AML programming across the K-16 education continuum. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop a strategic approach for the continuous improvement and expansion of existing talent programs
- Assist with the planning and execution of existing skills alignment program events
- Oversee data entry and maintenance of information regarding relevant partners and stakeholders in Salesforce and other digital tools
- Serve as a representative for Conexus Indiana with schools colleges and universities and regional and local economic and workforce development organizations
- Develop relationships with community influencers such as elected officials and trade group leadership
- Develop relationships with points of contact at both education and industry partners to promote K-16 skills alignment programs
- Leverage working groups and Conexus industry networks at-large to inform the talent teams strategy and programming
- Identify employer leaders/champions and education partners to engage in industry-specific panels roundtables presentations hiring events and professional development opportunities centered on showcasing opportunities within AML
- Explore and curate new programs that promote connectivity between secondary and post-secondary education continuums
- Identify and leverage synergy between existing communication campaigns to promote work-based learning and career exploration models
- Develop student-facing programming and resources to amplify and enhance existing curriculum and programs of study
- Articulate thought leadership in efforts to refine career and technical education (CTE) pathways and standards
- Partner with state government agencies and education and training programs to ensure industry-aligned curriculum is developed
- Collaborate on grant requests and accompanying reports
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in K-12 education higher education or workforce development
- Proven ability to implement sustainable and meaningful student or workforce training programs
- Proven ability to move external parties to a favorable tipping point in decision making
- Proven ability to convene disparate groups around common goals
- Proven ability to maintain a growth mindset and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Proven ability to assign delegate and collaborate effectively across projects
- Ability to understand public sector programs and supports that might be leveraged to support the mission
- Knowledge and experience with education programs and processes; within CTE context preferred
- Knowledge and experience within AML industries
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills
- Proficiency in program management software
- Proficiency in customer relationship management software
- Detail-oriented self-starter who can be given a need or objective break it down into executable pieces identify questions that need to be asked gather priorities and requirements set milestones and then execute effectively
