KNKX offers a hybrid working environment. This position generally requires three days a week in-office.


General Description

The Accounting Assistant performs a variety of accounting tasks to assist the Director of Finance including accounts receivable accounts payable and reconciliations. The role also prepares and processes monthly payroll assists with audit preparation and supports reporting for management the governing board and external agencies.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Manage the accounts receivable process.
  • Process invoices for payment (accounts payable).
  • Prepare invoices for services.
  • Oversee the database revenue account reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for management and the governing board as needed.
  • Assist in preparing schedules and documentation for the annual audit.
  • Public File Management & EEO reporting as needed
  • Reconcile monthly corporate purchase card accounts.
  • Maintain and review all station outside contracts.
  • Assist in monthly Payroll and PTO reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including formulas and macros.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Detail-oriented with ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.


Required Qualifications

  • 23 years of nonprofit accounting experience (education may substitute).
  • 23 years of QuickBooks expertise.
  • BA degree preferred; several years of related experience may substitute.
  • Strong Excel knowledge including formulas and macros.


Skill Assessments will be administered to top candidates in:

  • Accounting
  • Excel
  • QuickBooks Online
  • G-Suite
