Salary: Leadership Scale Level 1 to 3 51773 to 54394 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Hours: Full-Time 40 hours per week Fixed Term Contract until Easter 2027

Aurora Summerfields School opened in April 2023 and is already making a meaningful impact. With a proposed capacity of 50 students we are an independent specialist school supporting children and young people aged 519 with Autism spectrum conditions and associated challenges in accessing education.

The Role

Were seeking an exceptional Assistant Head Teacher to join our Senior Leadership Team. Youll play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the school driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of excellence inclusion and wellbeing.

You will:

  • Lead by example modelling outstanding SEN practice and a positive inclusive ethos.
  • Support the Head of School in delivering high standards of teaching and learning across the curriculum.
  • Champion staff development through coaching mentoring and professional learning.
  • Oversee transitions for pupils at key stages and into post-16 pathways.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing by liaising with internal and external support services.
  • Contribute to school improvement through data analysis lesson observations and strategic planning.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your team and deputize for the Head of School when required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Has successful experience teaching pupils with ASC and ADHD.
  • Has held a leadership role and contributed to school improvement.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and staff development.
  • Has strong knowledge of Ofsted Independent School Standards and school development planning.

Requirements

  • Degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Enhanced DBS with Barred List Check
  • UK Driving Licence
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training
