Vision Systems Engineer

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is seeking to hire a Vision Systems Engineer to support the research development deployment and management for vision systems within Shaw Industries Residential Operations division. These systems provide critical quality inspection and help maximize output (yield OEE).

Responsibilities:

  • Support ongoing manufacturing facilities through machine vision system operation and enhancements.

  • Coordinate with machine vision OEMs and contractors for testing installing integrating sustaining auditing and assessing systems assuring successful implementation of new vision systems.

  • Where required install vision system machinery develop schedules for installation of equipment and management of contractors.

  • Provide division-wide inspection machine PM management (inspection machine maintenance/performance management)

  • Inspection equipment improvement activities including improve/manage inspection machine accuracy and detection

  • Establishment of inspection information management system

  • Expansion of equipment and dissemination/application of new technologies for inspection

  • Review and maintain inspection machine model development and any required model changes

  • Develop technician skills within the Operations facilities

  • Establishment and management of inspection machine standards

  • Traveling to Shaw facilities for project planning and implementation

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent relevant experience

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% between Shaw facilities

  • 3 years of related visions systems experience (preferred)

  • Demonstrated expertise in multi spectra system implementation

  • Hands programming languages such as Python C with GPU programming and parallel processing using CUDA or OpenCL (preferred)
